The Equalizer Movie Review

Just watched premiere of The Equalizer on Tuesday (23rd Sept) thanks to Nuffnang.

  • A man believes he has put his mysterious past behind him and has dedicated himself to beginning a new, quiet life. But when he meets a young girl under the control of ultra-violent Russian gangsters, he can't stand idly by - he has to help her.
Coming to local cinemas TODAY!

She's all grown up!
Love to see Chloe act... =)

Well, The Equalizer is a movie lead by one of my favourite actor, Denzel Washington. This movie is definitely a must for movie goers who are into action movies. The amount of killing & fighting (don't include any foul languages la) with different weapons out of the ordinary like guns and swords are really kinda impressive. It is really smart to allow the main character to perform his combat skills just by using items which are convenient to him, for example from his workplace and his home. (He make all the things like so simple can jadi weapon terus & heal sendiri easily! *salute!*

Denzel Washington as Bob when he works in home mart.

As usual Denzel Washington gave a good acting performance as Robert McCall (super OCD & particular in time punya fella lor) in The Equalizer. There is this article even said that he's the one who brings OCD element to this movie.

Denzel Washington in this movie is an OCD person,
like some friends I know when it comes to tea & also cutleries arrangement.

Besides that, the current blooming actress Chloe Grace Moretz (who acted in Kick As$, Carrie 2013 & coming soon; If I Stay movie) did a really good job in acting a role that is much more mature than her current age. But, it is sad to see that she has such little screen time in The Equalizer. Did you know that she purposely put on some weight just for these movie?! (Check out the video below, interviewed by Allie Merriam from popsugar.com). And rumours said that she and Brooklyn Beckham are dating. [But they both do look cute together though! Don't you think so?! =) ]

Chloe as Teri, a young Russian immigrant prostitute in the movie

That clutch & earrings... ;)

And as for Marton Csokas, he once again plays the villain of The Equalizer aside from his other previous movies (he was in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Sin City, The Lord of the Rings, The Bourne Supremacy etc)

Marton Csokas as the Russian sociopathic villian
called Teddy (what a sweet name for erm, guy like this..)
[There's actually a lot of scenes where they did
a lot of close up shot to the tattoos, very fine & detail I must say]

You don't even have to search for Robert McCall,
he got balls until he'll go & find you when you're having your dinner!
"What do you see when you look into my eye...?"
[I actually thought he'll say "ME, MYSELF"...
Erm, mana tau he repeat back the same word Teddy asked. -_-"]

The only downside in The Equalizer is that the viewers will not be able to understand the real identity of Robert McCall as not sufficient explanation was given. By the time the movie ends, you guys will be asking one another, what is Robert McCall actual role? But I'm guessing he's a retired intelligence officer who's super particular in time kut.. Hmm... Quite powerful also qua coz ada org sanggup take helicopter and all just to help him to check out who this Teddy is... Wanna know more? Go and watch it! But I can tell you, the movie is nice! Never have any boring / sleepy / long grandma story scene... the paling best scene is when he's fighting with all the enemies in home mart.. Justice is finally served when he visits Vladimir Pushkin in Russia!

Chloe Grace Moretz (she's wearing stunning Dior dress)
& Denzel Washington at TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) recently

His favourite phrase in this movie;
"You've got to be who you are in this world"

And psst... If you ask if there's going to be any sequel coming up for this movie, good news guys! They are planning to shoot The Equalizer 2 according to here & here. Yeay~ Can't wait for it! =)

"Yeap, I'll be back! Stay tuned!"
