[Coming Soon] teamLab: Resonating Microcosms @ LaLaport BUKIT BINTANG CITY CENTRE BBCC

Psst! I have good news to share with everyone! We will be having teamLab (like, finally!) art installations / exhibition here in Malaysia!

The art collective teamLab, “teamLab: Resonating Microcosms“ will be held from 4th August to 30th November 2022 at Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport BUKIT BINTANG CITY CENTRE (LaLaport BBCC)!

teamLab, which held the largest number of exhibitions worldwide, will exhibit its light artworks at LaLaport BBCC.

The exhibition is named “teamLab: Resonating Microcosms”. Visitors will have a chance to immerse in it's light transformation which changes according to the presence of people for free! How cool is that?!

**FYI, teamLab (f. 2001) is an international art collective, an interdisciplinary group of specialists such as artists, programmers, engineers, CG animators, mathematicians, and architects, whose collaborative practice seeks to navigate the confluence of art, science, technology, and the natural world. They held numerous exhibitions at venues worldwide as well as large-scale permanent exhibitions in Shanghai, Macao, Tokyo (hope to visit here one day), and Singapore (wanted to visit here too but doesn't have enough time the last time I was there). As of today, teamLab has welcomed over 28 million visitors to its art exhibitions worldwide! The teamLab Borderless museum in Tokyo saw 2.3 million visitors from over 160 different countries and regions in one year since its opening and was recognized as the world's most visited single-art group museum. It was also named one of TIME Magazine’s World’s Greatest Places of 2019.

Resonating Microcosms - Liquified Light Color, Sunrise and Sunset
The Rooftop Garden, which features countless ovoids, is an art space that transforms through changes in the natural environment and the presence of people.

Under the sun, the ovoids reflect the world around them. But as the sun sets, the ovoids begin to shine by themselves. When an ovoid is pushed by a person, blown by the wind, or hit by rain, it shines brightly and emits a sound tone as it rises back up on its own. The ovoids around it also respond one after another, resonating out the same sound tone and light color. The surrounding Resonating Trees also respond and change continuously.

teamLab is experimenting with the concept of color. The ovoids can change into a total of 57 newly-defined Liquified Light Colors.

The space of the work is interactively transformed under the influence of the wind, rain, and the behavior of the people in the space, making the environment and the people a part of the work.

Title of the work

Resonating Trees

The trees shine brightly. The light of each tree is autonomous, slowly blinking.
The light transmitted from “Resonating Microcosms - Liquified Light Color, Sunrise and Sunset” causes the trees’ lights to change color, and a tone specific to that color resonates out.
The light of a tree is transmitted to the surrounding trees one by one, as the sound is continuously emitted.

When a light resonates from the trees in the distance, it signifies the presence of people. Perhaps people will become more aware of the existence of others in the same space. And here are the info below:
