How to Pamper Your Mom This Mother's Day: At Hammam Spa @ Publika (The Moroccan Way)

You know, Mother's Day is coming, apart from treating your mom yummy dinner and flowers, why not try bringing your mom for a spa retreat? You know she deserve it! Releasing all tension and cares of everyday life!

Princess & Queen of the day;
me & my dearest mummy at Hammam Spa

I brought my mom to Hammam Spa, Publika recently and gosh, the feeling is so nice after all the treatment! They offers a whole range of spa treatments, me and my mom tried their "My Favourite Concubine" package, which includes their signature Hammam & Gommage, the Moorish body polish and an aromatherapy massage. (too bad, my nose were stuck that day, can't really smell how nice I were... =p

What a welcoming entrance eh...

Beautiful receptionist / waiting to be register area

Lovely detailing on their door...

Seeing through a room...

What to expect when you're in "Morocco" for a spa...

Love, love, love their colourful tiles

FYI, Hammam is actually the first traditional Moroccan version of the Turkish Bath in Asia and the entire place, ahhh, their interior, once you step inside the place, you'll instantly thought you're in Morocco, with beautiful Middle Eastern setting!

According to the founder of Hammam Spa, Adam Demnati who is from Morocco, all their decor to interior items are originally from Middle East especially from Morocco itself. Colourful Moroccan tiles everywhere, tables, vases, and their pendant lights! Wow, perfecto!

Welcome to Hammam Spa

Well-balanced interior

The waiting area...

Beautiful pendant lights...

It was gloomy lit, in order to create a nice relaxing ambience

Yeap, I must admit that I'm obsessed with their tiles & lamps too

The detailing of their metal plate, who is also use as side table

We were assigned to our own locker, with our very own passcode. Wearing just their disposable top & undies, we were introduced to our experienced Moroccan beauticians / therapists / bath ladies named Teresa & Fatima. They lead us to bathing room that have 3 heated marble bed tiles (a girl already occupied one of the marble bed). It's superb comfty to lie down, enjoying the gentle heat while the ladies work their magic on us.

Make up room that consist of comb, cotton facial pads, tissues and hair dryer

Beautiful warm mable bed..
Miss lying on it... so warm, so nice!

They applied black soap (contain olive oil base, which is good for moisturising) on us, leave us for half an hour, then they uses new exfoliation mittens to scrub off those dead skin / 'blackie daki' on our body. Well, more like from head to toe bah... It looks like 'dead worms' on the 'crime scene' after they done with the process okay! Another round of washing us off, they applied Moorish body polish (some sort of volcanic clay based polish) on us. Leaving us for another few more minutes so that the polish will absorb into our skin, then off to third round of washing. Lastly, they wash our hair with rose scented shampoo. **The last time someone bathed me was my mom when I was 5? I think? And now, someone actually touch you everywhere like your mom, but not your mom, and while your mom is front of you, being by bathed from people and all... it all feels so weird.. awkward moment... :P *shy* la la la la~ *looking at ceiling... "Wah, the tiles are so pretty I tell you.."

"Its therapeutic steam combined with all natural Moroccan beauty potions and oils will clear your lungs, stimulate blood circulation and remove toxins as you gently perspire. Indulge your senses listening to the gentle splashing and tinkling of water flowing and let your consciousness drift back to your very essence, your deepest being." - Hammam Spa

Anyways, I must admit, their hygiene level is super good. The beauticians will use their scissors to cut the exfoliation mittens in front of you, showing and reassuring you that the mittens are used only once. They also disposed out undies after the treatment. Our skin smell so good and so smooth! Bye bye 'blackie daki' and hello beautiful skin that hopefully will last for at least, erm, a week?!  =D
**I have to admit that it's indeed very weird and awkward to be naked in front of not just my mom but to them beautician ladies and their another lady customer. But somehow, I just ditch my shyness and screw it... =E

That's me, after enjoying their Hammam & Gommage treatment!

Every room, they try to make you feel like you're in Morocco and not in KL... Ahhh~

#selfie while waiting for massage treatment next!

Enough of me already, here's my mom posing for a picture

Sipping on that Moroccan mint tea and enjoying the ambience...

A picture of me and my mom enjoying the ambience of Hammam Spa

Wearing their fluffy robes, we were led to waiting area. While waiting for massage treatment, we were treated with awesome Moroccan dessert, BAKLAVA (honeyed pastries) and Moroccan mint tea! So sweet and sedap! >,<

Doing it the Moroccan way.
Moroccan mint tea and baklava! Yummeh~

Me and my mom were led to couple room then. The room, lightly lit, music is so serena and the interior is so beautiful. The masseuses are very well trained where they make sure you are at your best comfortable level and making sure we are both properly covered. Their music and their massage, made me felt so comfty till I doze off... (Hopefully I did not snore but my mom told me I did...Yikes!) Seriously, overall, everything is so nice and relaxing.

Couple room for a good massage treatment!

Solo green massage room

Solo red massage room

They even have bath tub in couple room,
it for those who opted for "Royal Couple Hammam" package

Huge bath tub that can fit more than 2 people in it?! :P

Few advices that I would like to share to anyone who is planning to try out these treatment from Hammam Spa.

1. Ditch those shyness away
- it may feel awkward and weird for the first few minutes or for first timer, but trust me, later on, you'll feel better (because what you have, she also have what?!). So, just flaunt it!
2. Come in 15 minutes earlier
- so that you can get change and get ready
3. Do not wear make up
- or else, you will end up like a ghost, but try asking them if they have make up remover or not because they used to have, but I'm not sure about it now. Put on your make up only once you're done with the treatment
4. Make sure you have plenty of time
- don't do it if you're in hurry because you will need to relax

#from where I stand

Can't get enough of their floor tiles too... -_-"

Dearest mummy with lovely background
Look so happy & relaxed already~

Here's my review on Hammam Spa, if you're really stressed out and would like to relax yourselves, why not treat yourself a good spa treatment? I really felt this is a very good relaxing place. Pricey but it's all worth it after all. When you're inside with all the Moroccan feel, you totally forgot that you're in the middle of a busy city! Trust me, your body, leg, mind and soul are gonna thank you for giving them such a good treatment! If you like it, do bring your mom along as they have mom and daughter package too! Check out their website for more details.

That's all for now! Ciao~
